FAQ

How do we book?
Booking is straight forward, fill in the booking form with your requested vehicle, dates and any extras you’d like and we’ll get back to you within 48hrs to confirm and arrange payment of your deposit to secure the booking.

How do we pay?
In the days of Internet banking the easiest way is by a simple bank transfer. We also accept card payments, cash or cheques. Card payments may incur a handling charge. Any cheques must clear at least 28 days before the holiday starts.

Where are you based?
We’re pretty much in the middle of Cornwall, between Truro, St Austell and Newquay. This means every part of the Duchy is easily accessible after picking the vehicle.

I see the vans carry an insurance excess, is there any way I can reduce this?
Depending on the driver’s age and driving history we can usually offer a collision damage waiver. Contact us for more information.

Can we get supplies when picking up the vehicle?
Our village has a small Londis store or we have the full range of supermarkets within a 10 mile radius. To make things easier we can supply some essentials or even an authentic Cornish goody box so you’re ready to go as soon as you arrive.

Minidubs? How small are they?
Our minidubs aren’t full sized campervans, however they do seat 4 and sleep 2 inside the van. The sleeping area is approximately 1m80 long and 1m40 wide. Extra people can stay in the awning we supply for a small charge with the vehicle. Whilst parked up this contains the kitchen equipment and has a separate bedroom.

Can we travel the whole country in a minidub?
We’re confident our vans will be happy and trouble free if driven as they should be, we actually drove them from the docks in Middlesbrough down to Cornwall when we first purchased them. However, all bookings leaving Cornwall and Devon need to be pre-approved, this is to ensure we can supply the required support quickly in the unlikely event of a breakdown or vehicular problem.

I’ve never driven a large vehicle, is Marlon too big for me?
We chose our Adria motorhome over other models as it’s based on a standard wheel base transit van. Although larger than a standard car they’re remarkably easy to drive and if driven with care shouldn’t offer any major problems. We’re happy to give a short lesson if required!

Can we take Marlon abroad?
Yes! Marlon loves travelling Europe, the only requirements are a small insurance premium and the promise of a photo of the van enjoying his break!

We’re not sure where to visit to get the most out of our break, can you offer a suggested route?
Whilst some people prefer to let the open road take them where it will we’re more than happy to suggest routes, campsites and attractions you may like to visit. Whether it’s a hidden beach, fishing village, outdoor theatre or the best surf we can provide the ideal tour suggestions for you. If on a VIK tour we can even pre-book your campsites to take all the hassle out of the trip.

We’re travelling to Cornwall by train or plane, how do I get to your office?
Simple, we can pick you up! We’ll collect you from Newquay airport or St Austell/Truro Stations free of charge. For international visitors we can arrange transport from Bristol airport for an extra fee. Alternatively if you drive down we can provide parking for your vehicle, we can even give it a full valet!

I want to hire for a holiday but don’t live in Cornwall…
Check out our VIK Tours, we provide home delivery, one way hires, whatever you need to make your hire as smooth as possible

We don’t have room to pack bedding, surfboards or our bikes for the journey down to you, what can we do?
We’re happy to hire out bedding, wetsuits, surfboards, bikes, kayaks, racks and lots more at reasonable rates. We can even supply an authentic Cornish picnic hamper. You can see some of what we offer here.

Do you accept dogs?
Dogs can be bought along for the holiday by prior arrangement, we do charge a fee to cover the extra cleaning required and obviously dogs can’t be left in the vans unsupervised.

How do you ensure my personal data is kept private?
We take data protection very seriously, we only keep the information we need for the minimum amount of time required. If the van is returned without issue we refund your deposit and destroy our copies of your ID and bank details within 5 days. Whilst stored, your data is saved online in password protected folders and paper copies are kept in a locked safebox. We never pass your information on to 3rd parties for marketing use but may share information with relevant bodies in the event of an accident or motoring offence.

I’ve fallen in love with a minidub, where can I buy my own?
Right here at Kernow Kampers! We can arrange import and delivery of your ideal minidub, simply let us know what you want!
